Best Tires for 2009 Fit
Best Tires for 2009 Fit
Just bought a 2009 Honda Fit with 164,000 miles. Car has a cheap set of tires on it and rides a bit rough. I feel every bump in the road. What is the best tire to get to improve road feel of the car? I’m using the car to get back and forth to work 40 miles a day on the highway. Not worried about performance, just need comfort.

Go to Tirerack.com and compare tires yourself. Then look for feedback posts there on the tires from members that have run them.
Remember that tires that are highly rated in California won't necessarily be the right tire for you in Ohio.
If it gets too confusing, call Tirerack and speak to a salesman. I've had great help from a salesman by the name of Walt there.
Good luck with your selection.

I'd suggest checking tire pressure if you haven't yet. Options outside of the 15" wheels would be.. air suspension which I know nothing about, or springs with progressive spring rates.
Tirerack is an awesome resource and I hope they stay in business. If there's any kind of wizardry that could be achieved with tires, those would be the guys to ask.

You aren't going to find comfort. I've gone so far as to go down an inch to 15 inch wheels and tires for a taller sidewall, doesn't make an appreciable difference. Nor do a different set of struts because most all sold for the Fit are stiffer and valved for harder springs.
I selected tires based on longevity (how many miles they should last) economy (how easy they roll down the road and increase my fuel efficiency) and low noise.

These are the tires I have and I like them a lot.
