Transmission Durability! Transmission case durability!

Hello Everyone,

Quick question… how durable are the 5 speed automatic transmissions on a 2010 honda fit base?
How hard is it to crack a transmission case? I called honda And they seemed pretty adamant that the only way to crack the transmission case was to be involved in a major accident or collide or hit something to impact the transmission housing. What kind of metal are the transmissions made of? And how thick is the transmission case? I know preventative maintenance is key so i have my transmission serviced often and drained and filled with fresh fluid. I know speed bumps and rough roads can cause damage so at all costs i will slow down to a crawl if I have to for speed bumps or pot holes! Nothing is currently wrong with my transmission, im just asking out of curiosity since this is my first honda. Plus i hope to not have to worry about it for awhile since my for only has 41,000 miles on it. I noticed some chips and little cracks in the housing but when i asked the dealership about it they said its a coating that is put on the transmission case thats chips away from heat and weather over time.

Thanks for all your advice and help!

Just drive your car normally and don't even think about this!

There are many, many, many things to worry about in 2022.
The durability of your Fit automatic transmission case is not even on the list.
Could it break through some freak accident (e.g., you bottom out the car on a speed bump at max velocity)? Maybe.
You can also get hit by a Boeing 737 falling from the sky in the next five minutes.
If you read this then you successfully avoided the plane accident. Pat yourself on the back and drive your Fit.

That is nothing to even worry about from Honda. Take your petty concerns elsewhere.

I own a 2009 Fit but I have a manual transmission in it and the car is getting close to 383000 kilometers ( 237985 miles) with the original transmission. The clutch has been replaced once before I got it. These cars are very reliable and you can be sure they can take a lot of mileage.
