Engine Swap

Alright, I've been driving my 2011 Fit for a while and I'm loving it, taken it to a few places with friends to race it around. Recently I've been looking at engine swaps for it, particullarly a k20 or k24, I know this also means a transmission swap (I've heard you need 9th gen civic 6 speed to make it work). However while I have the money saved up for it I don't think I have the experience or even the tools to do an engine swap myself. I've done minor things to my cars before, intakes, exhausts, and fixing parts that break like suspension and stuff. So I've been looking for places that will do it for me and I've found many engine swap shops but none that offer K-swaps for the Honda Fit on their website.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this done for them and what shop they used, I'm currently in the northeast United States but I am willing to drive it a fair distance to get it done.

Again I'm new to the car scene as a whole and have kinda only done stuff myself in my yard and then taken it winding empty rural roads to race around on with friends. This is probably the first major thing I'll have done to any of my cars. So if you have any advice about this and if there are better alternatives or a way I can do it myself please let me know.

P.S; If anyone has suggestions for some good coil overs or preferably air-suspension please let me know. I know Airsus will be more expensive but I don't know how much I'll be able to keep jacking up my car to raise and lower it all the time and I've heard it makes a smoother ride.

P.P.S; This later will eventually be my track ready daily driver so idk if a k24 is too much if later down the line I'm planning to just drive this to work and back.

Thank you for this thread, I haven’t been able to find any threads like this. Only one where a guy was talking about his Fit after he did it. This is definitely making me rethink the engine swap, I’ll put a little more thought and research into it for now.

Just want to drop my experience with K swaps - I haven't done a Fit, but I did an Insight. The fuel economy is going to depend almost entirely on the final drive ratio / gearing. I had a custom 3.4 made and swapped 6th gear for a 9th gen 6th. My mixed driving averages were around 45, mid 50's was possible at "slow" highway speeds, and my highest ever tank was 65mpg, though that was more of a stunt where I used eco driving (pulse and glide with an engine kill switch when coasting) for nearly an entire day to get it.

With a larger engine, it becomes more sensitive to short trips and bad driving, but allow it to stretch its legs on the highway with a very tall cruising gear and you'd be surprised.
