Coastal Maintenance
Coastal Maintenance
My 2011 Fit is a mountain car, but I’m living on the NC coast for a few months. I am just over the dunes from the ocean. I’m washing my car once a week, but I’m wondering what else I should do to protect it from the salty, humid air. Is it safe to hose off the engine? My car is in pretty good shape, and I don’t want these three months to ruin it. Thank you for any tips!
At any rate, just soap wash weekly and make sure to hose through grill. Make get some Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid wax and coat it once or twice. Easy spray on, wipe off. No worries ,it takes years for damage to occur.
Oh... and do not drive on beach lol!

btw, the OBX and WNC are my favorite places! WNC is home.
Nope, No need.
Keep H2O away from electronics.
If possible park with rear facing ocean.
' I love both. As an old hippie, Asheville suits me well. But winter.....
BTW, Strange question but at indicated 60 mph, what RPM is showing. on tach?
Reason I ask is my 2008 needs a transmission and I found one from a 2013 . Slightly different ratios, but should bolt right up.
TIA
