maintenance/repair history

Recently bought a 2010 Fit with 160k miles from a used car lot. No records of any kind as to maintenance or repairs.
Is it possible to do an online VIN search to find any records of repairs or maintenance at any dealership? Origin of car is unknown.
Thanks

so im assuming you checked carfax? if yes, then its possible the owner did all the maintenance work... and possibly repairs as well.

I've never tried it myself, but I've heard the dealership can sometimes check the history of work done at other dealers. Don't think there's any way to get a work history from independent shops without knowing which one to call.

That's what I was thinking..thought maybe someone had a link to that type of info.
I might do CarFax...holding off because of the $40 fee...it's prob worth it.

A carfax report with bad stuff in it tells you what you want to know......

....but a clean carfax report means absolutely nothing.
