A 2013 manual came up for sale locally and I'm torn. Downside, it has 180K miles on it. Upside, it's under $6k, has a clean title, and been maintained. I'm wanting a Fit to (a) drive around town (my job requires moderate daily driving around a 100K sized city), (b) tinker on, and (c) last at least 5 years.

Front brake pads and rotors replaced at 124,000; Spark plugs replaced, valves adjusted, head cover gasket replaced, coolant at 103,000; replaced coolant at 103,000; a/c condenser and battery replaced at 99,000; New tires at 173,000.

What are thoughts from the collective? Would you jump on it fully expecting to get another 100K mostly gentle city driving on it? I haven't test driven it yet so I have no idea how much life the shock absorbers/strut/suspension have in them.

They tend to hold up. Maint. requires removing some cowls with many clips. Keep an eye on spark plugs, cv shafts if its been anywhere rusty. adjust valves, and I think you're good (barring the unforseen). If the AC still works, consider installing some grill mesh in the front bumper to keep it that way.
at 5k you should have a good range of vehicles to pick from.

 

Sound like a decent deal to me - a lot of maintenance has been done.
