Thumbs up 2012-2013 Suspension -> Fit 2010> ?

Hello guys, tried looking online.
But no joy.

I recently acquired a 2010 Honda Fit (base) 5MT/.

Looking to tidy it up a bit. Was wondering if any of you guys know if the 12-13 Honda FIT suspension OEM would fit my 2010.
I noticed in one of the thread i came across, that the 12-13 were a bit more comfortable than the earlier years.

Would love to verify with you guys first before pulling the trigger online and get it from Honda. For the front, looking at the complete

Shock Absorber Assembly

that way it would just be plug and play not to worry about spring compressor and all.
thank you all in advance for your help.

Have you compared part numbers for the two years?

I didn't think there were any mechanical changes from 2009-13. Maybe I am wrong?

Changes I am aware of to comfort are interior trim color and padding, sound insulation. Very, very minor things.

There are some base vs sport changes. The Sport gets a stiffer rear sway bar, which reduces understeer. You can't add it, as it was welded in, but you can add an aftermarket one. It won't improve comfort.

It is plug-and-pay. Honda may have changed spring rates or valving, not sure about that, but the mounting points and geometry of the suspension didn't change.

I actually installed Honde GK5 struts on the GE8, got lucky and bought a set of ~2500 mile takeoffs from someone here who was upgrading. The size is virtually identical. They are valved slightly stiffer, likely for more weight of the GK5?, and gave the GE8 a better feel. They actually seem a tad more compliant, yet have better compression damping, in my opinion, of course that was new-ish struts replacing worn struts so its always hard to tell how much is just coming from the new part. I used the GK5 springs as well, front and rear. The GK5 shocks won't work on the GE8, as the spindle length is too long (higher mount point on the GK5), so I used a pair of ZF/Sachs shocks for the GE8, assuming they would be valved closer than KYB, being the same manufacturer as the GK5 OE shocks. Worked great. see thread here: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...hocks-ge8.html
