Weird back and forth rubbing sound when braking

Hey there.

I have a '09 MT Fit/Jazz (GG3). Yesterday, when I arrived home, I have noticed a strange sound from somewhere in the engine bay. I was braking while in gear, and without the engaged clutch, and a weird repeating back and forth rubbing sound has appeared. When I engaged the clucth and slowed down, the sound disappeared.
Since then, I drove it to find out what could be wrong, and I have noticed, that this sound only appears between 10-50kph (6-31mph), in all gears, also when in neutral it happens too, but just only when braking. Sometimes, engaging the clucth makes the sound disappear, but 1 in 10 cases, the sound is still there.
I have briefly checked my brakes, but I have not found anything wrong.
The only recent change regarding the car is that 1 week ago, the I have noticed the wear on the clutch, because it engages closer to the upper end than before, but it is still okay I think.

Has anyone heard about a case like this? If so, what could be the cause? Should I take it to a mechanic?
Thank you in advance.

edit:
I drove it again today, and what I wrote before is not really the case. I have found out, that the clutch has nothing to do with this, because the weird sound only appears when I slightly press the brake pedal (like when you are getting close to a turn and you have to slow down a bit), and if I start to press it even more or stop pressing it, the sound disappears.
Also, the sound comes from the area of passenger’s side front brakes, and only when I am slowing down from 30kph (18mph) to 0.
At the weekend, I will take off that wheel and inspect the brake.
But I am still looking for ideas about what this weird sound could be, because I would like to repair it!

On your front brake pads, Honda engineered a thin metal shim that attaches to one front pad on each side and runs perpindicular to the rotor and is about 20% the thickness of new pads. The shims are designed to touch and rub on the brake rotor when the pads are worn down to around their last 20% of thixkness to remind the driver that the brake pads will soon need to be serviced/ replaced. This sounds like the problem you're describing.

If this turns out to be a solution to your problem, it would be appreciated that you post again that this solved the problem. This feedbacl helps the community here.

Dear Chevydan,
This turned out to be the case, after inspecting it i have seen the mentioned shim. Thank you, I was really worried about the brakes, but it seems that I just have to change them. Thank you again!
