Puzzled and looking for a fix.

Hello:
2011 Fit basic , 55k miles. Never had a check eng. light or fail code.

Here is my issue. Suggestions and comments appreciated.

Out of the blue the car would not start. It would crank but didn’t appear to be firing? Not sure at that point. Hooked my scanner up to it. No OBD fail codes. Was able to test the fuel pump, throttle body and a couple other relevant things. That’s it still no start. I disconnected the pos battery post and grounded it out for a few minutes to zero out/reset everything.

At this point I tried starting it and it started to fire and then started after the crank sensors and computer relearned the firing sequence. Smoothed out and has since been running fine. No start issues nothing. Had some misfire codes from the initial start that I cleared. Nothing since. Pulled the plugs “originals”, looked good. Ohmed out the coils. They all closely matched in readings between the connector pins. Rubber looked pristine and no corrosion on the springs inside. Hosed all the connectors down w contact cleaner. Put it all back together. Ran a few other test that I could on the scanner with no issues. Started it many times and put 20 miles on it.

Without shotgunning a bunch of parts on it I would like to figure out the cause before it fails again. Anyone seen this before?

Bad fuel? It sounds like you successfully worked it out.
