What looks like an oil leak in an unlikely place

This image isn't my car but it shows the location well. the only way I noticed it was there was oil on the back part of my lower control arm and frame brace. I haven't got the car in the air yet to really take a look, but I don't know what it could be. it starts almost completely after the engine and trans so it just doesn't make sense.

ya since the power steering is electric it can't be that right? Idk. I will probably have time this week end to look at it and get back, but I can't think of anything that it can be.

Have you recently replaced your brake pads? I once pushed a little brake fluid past the lid after pressing my brake pistons back in post brake change.

Or your rear main seal is leaking?

I did recently replace my Clutch Master Cylinder, but I don't think I let much fluid leak out when I did this.
If it was my rear main seal then wouldn't you expect the oil to be farther towards the front?

No, because I've seen how a slow leak will wick along the underside of the transmission and end up kinda far away from where it leaks.

My money is still on brake fluid. Give it a good cleaning with brake cleaner and wait some time, see if it collects again.

ok I checked all my fluids and they are good, so I'm comfortable with seeing if it comes back.
still don't think it is the rear main because I can see the top side of everything from the engine bay and there is no evidence of it dripping on to the top and running back there.

You wouldn't see a drip from the top if it were the rear main, that's behind the flywheel where the crank comes out of the engine. It would wick out from between the trans and engine if it were leaking, but where it actually drips is anyone's guess.
