Oil Filter Support Tube Install Problems?

I am replacing the oil Pan on my 2009 1.5L sport, manual transmission, and am running into problems with the oil filter support (aka oil filter adapter / stud / support).

The new part doesn’t seem to thread into the new aluminum pan and I don’t want to force it. I verified that it was the correct part, I measured the threads on the new adapter to see if they were some kind of NPT type fitting but they are not. Like a bonehead I threw away the old oil pan with its old adapter so I can’t verify.

There isn’t much about this part online…Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance!

Confirming that you are replacing your old oil pan with an oem Honda made pan or an aftermarket pan?
If the new pan is oem, why not go to your local Honda dealer with your receipt and either have them provide a correct replacement threaded pipe, or at least see if one is available to purchase?
If this pan is aftermarket, contact the manufacturer and have them sort the problem out and provide the correct threaded part

Thanks for the reply Chevy Dan…these are both parts from Rock Auto, customer support will be my next step.

Problem

You may have to go to a local auto parts place for one to fit. Bring the new pan and the oil filter that will fit. Just a thought.
