Bilstein B14 + RPF1 Suspension Wheel Fit/Rubbing Question

Hi all,

Following along on so many threads has been a great inspiration. I am trying to get my head around whether the following will fit without rubbing or problems and I can't seem to glean a clear answer from the other posts I have read.

I ordered the Bilstein B14 coilovers that I saw recommended as a nice less aggressive option.

However, instead of receiving the 47-165854 (F: 0-30mm, R: 0-30mm), I was sent their replacement part 47-172401 (F: 20-45mm, R: 15-45mm).

Given the fact that I will now have at least .8" of drop I am feeling less certain about the fitment of my upcoming wheels and tires.

I was looking at the Enkei RPF-1's in 15x7 ET 41mm with the Continental Extreme Contact Sport 205/50 R15.

Does anyone have any input on whether this will cause a regular rubbing scenario?

Wishing y'all the best and thanks in advance!

TLDR: Base 2012 Fit, 0.8" dropped, 15x7 205/50 R15, will it rub?

You should be okay.

A 205/50/15 is a good bit shorter than the stock tire and 0.8” lower than stock still leaves a fair amount of clearance.

You may scrape infrequently on large bumps, but I don’t think it’ll be a major issue for you.

When my car was on lowering springs it was around probably 0.8-1” lower than stock and never rubbed when paired with my 16x7 +38 wheels with 195/50/16 tires (so wheels stick out three mm further. But your tire is a couple mm wider on the outside of the wheel, but also a good few mm shorter in diameter than my reference point.).

I’m lowered 2-2.5” these days (I think, I don’t have a stock fit for reference) on the same wheels and even with this rubbing is not all that frequent.

I have those exact wheels and tires on a 2012 Fit with Swift springs that lower the car around 1”. Absolutely no rubbing. The only downside is that we have to be more careful about approaching inclines because the long nose can rub the ground sooner with the lower height and shorter tires. No regrets.
