Aftermarket headlamp replacement assemblies - your experiences please

Looking to replace total headlamp assemblies for '09 base, 5 door, MT. Would like to get your purchase/install/fitment experiences, good or bad, with specific aftermarket companies that supply same. Appreciate your time, TIA.

I never go with after headlights for the simple fact that the lenses will always shed its clearcoat after a year or so. Your better off buying a used set of OEM headlights that are fogged up and then just clearing them up

Interesting response ... if indeed it is just the clearcoat that is deficient (sheds), then why not apply your own clearcoat formulation to the aftermarkets, all things being equal as regards fit and function? Just my initial thought.

if you do go aftermarket, it would be wise to seal them before use. Oem headlights haze and shed over a long duration under some intense heat but after market ones will shed sheets of the lense within the first year unattended to. I remember Light Depo was one of the better aftermarket headlights and even they would shed

I would also recommend water sealing them. Everyone I know that bought 3rd party housings had hazed lenses and condensation after a year.

Ok, thanks - I found some vids on how to seal/water seal, and will plan to do so.

No experiences/recommendations for units from particular vendors, or units to avoid?

I put on the brand Eagle Eyes housings three months ago and they seem fine. Went with them because I used them on my truck and they worked just fine for years.
