I bought a 2010 Fit Sport and it does not have a rear deck/shelf that prevents someone from looking through the rear hatchback window into the trunk. Did it ever have a shelf the previous owner didn't include when he sold me the car?

 

I think it was an optional accessory?

I know what you mean. Looking at it on paper, you have to think, as I did, "Well, this will never work." But it does.

 

optional. i didn't like the look of the accessory so I made one out of plywood and black fabric and little hinges.

worked great, reduces road noise a bit, but, i found i would end up removing it every winter in preparation for needing to grab a snow brush or shovel. ended up in the final year just not using it any more, then i gave it to my dad to see if he would use it.
