Well, technically, that would be a "removed" rear window.

I always wished our back glass was hinged like on sport ute's. It would make it more like a wagon and who doesn't like a wagon!?!

Agreed. I would never need a truck if that glass opened.

It's more like a "I want to be dating Chrissy Teigen" type of want, less of a "I'm going to do something about it" type.

In other words I can't see any way to make that glass even flip up or remove, forget about retract.

I also want those tilting front vent windows like back in the 50s, or those rear ones like a 1990s minvan. Either really.

Flip up: Delete the wiper and spoiler (if you have sport trim), then add hinge on top and latch just above the H logo. No?

Remove: Same deletes as above and then add some sort of latch (four of them, one at each corner or if you want three, replace the third brake light instead of top two corners).

You might be able to keep the spoiler if you were to mount a modified spoiler onto the glass itself. The wiper would need some sort of mod in order to keep it and out of the way of moving the glass. Like a stop position off to the side (lower than the "JDM Wiper" mod), though it will require some gearing change to get it to work properly.

Retract: Most work and compromise. First, the compromise. The rear window has to be in three parts, since it's clear that there's no room to lower the whole thing (unless you want some sort of push out before sliding down thing, like how some moon/sun roof push up before sliding back. Wind drag might snap it off though). So, one middle part that is small enough to fit in the lower part of the hatch. Then rework the lower hatch body to fit motor, rails and the glass when its lowered. Spoiler can be kept, but the wiper needs the internal motor replaced/rearranged/etc to be kept. The outer/visible part of the wiper would probably need some modification too depending on how the middle glass is set up.

As for the front/rear vents... hinges and latch? I'm sure someone can do it.

The wipers mount through the glass and the wing mounts to the top and flips up with the window. So, the wiper and wing can remain, they just flip up with the glass. Look at a Highlander or Explorer for examples.

I do like the retractable style like on the 4-Runner though!

Anything would be better than not opening at all.

I had an Aunt, that owned a 69-70 VW bug with those vented windows. She was heavy smoker, and used the drivers side one as her "ash" disposal exit.

As years passed, she continually complained that vehicles no longer came with those windows.
Of course, she also complained when they stopped coming with "ash trays" and formal cigarette lighters...
