Own a 2008 fit and have an issue with pooling water in the rear floor boards

Own a 2008 fit and recently noticed pooling water in the rear floorboard areas on both the drivers and passengers sides. Can’t determine if it is from the AC or when raining. Really only notice when the AC is on not in rain situations. Need some advice as to others with same situation. Thanks in advance. New to the site. Thanks a million for any responses!

Welcome to FF!

It seems to be a common complaint. The problem is usually traced to the plastic behind the rear door panels combined with holes that are in the panel. I suspect that it only happens when the drain holes in the rear doors quit working. The doors are not water tight (same with most cars) and rely on the water passing through the door and draining out the bottom. If those holes get clogged or if the plastic sheet isn't intact, water can intrude into the cabin.

As a test you can use a garden hose to pour water down the outside of the back windows with the door closed and see what happens. If you have a second person, have them watch from the inside.
