2012 GE8 fit CEL flashing loss of power

While driving , CEL comes on but flashes not on solid , car Boggs out , won’t accelerate very much, I pull over , turn off engine …. Wait a min , start car , car sounds like it’s bogging for about 10 sec then everything all of a sudden starts to drive perfectly fine and dandy. No CEL , all normal

Wtf causes that!!! ??

I will scan it tomorrow, I’m away from my shop rn.

any ideas ? 147k , battery is ok , altho car has upgraded audio , I know it needs valve adjustment soon, it’s not clanky but I know it’s due , otherwise perfect maintenance history.

Any ideas much appreciated

thanks in advance

Check/replace your engine ground cables. Try jiggling the (possibly worn) ignition switch?

Flashing CEL means misfire, I think? Loose spark plug(s), bad spark plug(s), bad coil(s), bad injector(s), valve adjustment, as stated.

Code scan will probably be your friend.

loose spark plugs aye, snap that happened at 80k , I could smell fuel and ended up changing the plugs. I don’t smell fuel but probably should take a peek anyway….

yeah last thing I need is one to launch and rip threads off , that would really suck.

So , I’m going to clean my battery terminals and clean where the ground goes to the body (which I upgraded to zero gauge, and put new plug in again…

I super appreciate the post with that page. Is that from the owners manual?

Yes. Search the web for "Honda Fit <model year> owners manual pdf". It's free to download from Honda, no account needed or other silliness. The PDF has click/tap-able links, like the dashboard diagram on one of the early pages has an "Indicator Lamps" label with a link that takes you to the section with the first page I posted. The blue "If The Malfunction Indicator Lamp Comes On or Blinks" link takes you to the second page I posted. It's digital so it can be searched from your PDF viewer app. Overall its more convenient than the print version IMO.
