I have always liked the idea of screw-on filters that mount vertically with the filter hanging below the mount, preventing oil from draining back out of the filter and allowing you to prefill the filter (if you believe in that). Unfortunately, the (edit: second-generation) Fit has a horizontal filter, so having a quality anti-drain seal is indeed important.

I'm a pre-fill the filter kind of guy. Easy to do on my GMs which mount the filter upright with the opening at the top. The flipside to that is my WRX which mounts the filter upside-down.... Super easy filter access but can't pre-fill.

The GK5 oil filter is mostly vertical.
