I drove it right now and it feels quite a bit faster than the previous gen. And that was with AC and auto. You can feel vtec kick. Me, Oscar Sr. and Oscar Jr had a little 09 Fit party here at the dealership lol.

hmm... sounds like i might need that motor swap. my guess is that it should be an easy swap. unless they have plans for a sportier engine in the future.

The suspension is pretty nice. Its VERY stiff compared to 07-08. It feels like it has coilovers. Handles pretty good. Gets up good.

Yup... also I didnt get a pic of it... but the bumper has a diffuser look to it. The thing is the pic of the headrests... thats as far as they go down. they dont go flush The rear seats... If you sit in them without pulling up the headrests they bug your back while sitting. There was also some parts of fit and finish i didnt like. It DEFINITELY is better looking in person than pics... but still not better than 07-08

Wow, lots of bitter old-Fit fans feeling defensive with the introduction of the faster, better handling, better equipped, and more comfortable new model. That's okay... we understand that lashing out is just a coping mechanism.

We got a silver sport MT! No nav. I'm actually pleasantly surprised-- my ONLY complaints are for the headlights and tails. Otherwise I sort of like the new hood, and the hatch door, and the new interior is great. The stock 16"s are pretty nice. BUT, on this sport manual I notice.. -1mpg on both city and highway? D: Must be the increased length and +8hp.

according to auto trader the closest 09 fits are 256 miles away. With out the Navi system they interiors look nasty.

Thumbs down no audio controls on the wheel make it look really cheap

I ordered a 09 MT Sport with out nav (Blue Sensation).....I might actually cancel it. The stereo and steering wheel suck.

i'm curious how the intake airbox works. so that 'scoop' under the hood directs air from the grill area back to the airbox? where is the opening in the airbox where the air comes in?

'09 Fit Is In!!!!

(Posted earlier today on 2009 Fit thread)

My dealer just called me back and they just got the Fit off the truck. I have an appointment to drive it right when i get off work at 5:45pm mountain standard time (Utah). I will be the first to drive it they said as the car won't be prepped and ready to test drive until just before i get there.

Anyway, i got a camera for the test-drive tonight. Any picture requests other than the same stuff we've seen a million times? I can't think of much. I don't know if the one they got has the nav or not. Hopefully not, i would rather see some up close shots of the regular dash. I'm clearly bored at work right now, when all i'm thinking of is what pictures i should take.

There is a hole in the side of the airbox similar to what you did on your airbox.... but it seems like the airscoop throws the air right onto the ECU rather than the airbox.
