Thanks for the info waraeor! Funny, I just ordered a Fit (5MT sport) a few days ago to replace my 06 Accord Sedan (6MT). Hope don't miss the extra power that much. The Fit sure sounds like a fun car though. Can't wait to get it!

 

To make the transition from a more expensive, more powerful, etc. car to one like the Fit, I had to change my way of thought and attitude first. IOW, one shouldn't make apologies for the Fit. Once you make that transition, you'll appreciate and love your Fit much more. It's a different kind of car and it's a great one at that.

I'm still in break in period, so I haven't gotten on it yet, but 1st gear especially, it just wants to break loose and run to redline.

Great point(s)! I'm supposed to find out the arrival date today or tomorrow. Sounds like a lot of people were given dates several weeks out only to receive it a several days later. I gave the dealer 3 or 4 colors that I'd like and asked for the first one available. Found out Friday that the color will be Silver. ...still amazed at the MPG you are getting! Sweeeeet.

 

Yeah, they are ordering my car on sept 12th. But dont hijack thread, this is about the gearing. AHAHAH jk talk about whatev that involves fit love.

 

we can use a 6th gear... either that or im not used to going 65mph at 3k rpm.

 

I personally like only 5 gears. I had several cars with 5 and 6 gears, and while the 6MTs spin slower, they're less responsive on the highway. My 5MTs, including my new Fit feels more fun, and ready for passing with its short 5th gear. Besides, the Fit is already getting huge mpgs with 5 gears. It's a good balance.

 

I was thinking about that (hijack). My apologies...I'm getting a bit crazy waiting for my new ride.
