arm rests on 2009?

Quick question: I thought I remembered reading something about this but are there armrests on the '09? Driver, passenger, both, some large armrest in the middle? Is there a difference between the base and sport model? I noticed on the honda website when you build a fit you can add a center console/armrest, so I don't know what the deal is.

sport has driver. You can add on an center console thru the dealership, but they won't do it if it is MT. college hills has one too.

The drivers side armrest is rather small (but better than nothing). There are interior pictures posted on the forum that show it, but I cannot recall which thread has them.

If you want to see the center console, which adds storage and acts as an armrest between the driver and passenger seats, check out the pictures posted by pinballlooking on the "jdm center console" thread on page 2.

Man, since when did a skimpy armrest become so wonderful that it's only available on the upgraded model. Between that, and other basics like keyless entry and cruise control, you almost have to go with the sport. Which sucks, because I don't really care for all of the other body add ons.

Edit: I guess your response doesn't necessarily mean the base doesn't have a driver side armrest. Can someone confirm that the driver armrest is only on the sport?

Sport only, sorry. Now you know how us Sport owners feel about audio controls -- nav only, grrrr.

We are going to have available a comparable center console in a matter of days. ;-)

I hear you on the wheel mounted audio controls. Every time I say, "it's no big deal, I can live without it," it's no less than an hour later that I'm annoyed again. Would it have been that much more for Honda to include this feature standard on the Sport? Come on, the lowly Chevy Aveo has it, and it's not even in the same ballpark (imho) as the Fit.

To add insult to injury, Honda forces your had to get the navi for the controls and VSA, which is nearly $2k. In terms of the Sport versus base, which is somewhere in the neighborhood of $1600 more, at least you get a boat load of extras, including 16" rims/tires, cruise, body add ons, xtra speakers, rear stabalizer, fog lights, keyless entry (etc.). I think that's a steal for $1600, where as, the navi is overpriced for what you get. Whew, glad to get that off my chest.

P.S. What will really annoy me is when Honda includes the steering wheel controls on the '10 model, and offers VSA as a standalone option.

But of course!

Details to follow in just a few days. We are also selling the body side molding and the hood deflector in about 3-4 weeks.
