2009 vs. 2008 centre armrest console????

I'm a bit confused. From what I saw of the 2008 centre armrest console (with storage), it replaced the two front cup holders and added one at the back for the rear passengers. The 2009 would appear to mount into the 2 existing rear passenger cup holders and, from what I can make out, does NOT replace the 2 front cupholders nor does it add one for the back. Net result is that you lose the two cupholders for the rear passengers. Can someone chime in on this? Also, does this come in black or grey and can it be fitted into any model/transmission?

Hehe, I'm also looking into the armrest. Where do you see that the 08 armrest provides cupholders?

There's still 2 cupholders in the rear doors.

I was looking at the installation instructions on the College Hill website. They show the 2 front cupholders in the 2008 being replaced. I thought I'd read somewhere that it added 2 at the back, but I could be wrong. When I checked out the installation for the 2009 centre armrest console, it looked like the base fit right into the 2 slots now designated as rear cupholders. Again, could be wrong. Um, guess I'll know for sure when they install it in my car since I did order this....

Yes you loose the rear cup holders.

pictures of it installed in this link.
I think it is worth it. It is much better than the one it comes with and the passenger thinks so also.

Thanks! I was a little worried since the Honda Canada website lists 6 cupholders front, 2 back. So, if I was to lose those rear ones that would leave nothing for rear passengers. However, I think they "forgot" to list the 2 door bottle holders. Really the site should say "6 cupholders front, 4 back"...

Looked at your posted pictures. Wow, glad I got this! Kind of disappointed that I lose those rear cupholders since back seat passengers can't really put hot drinks in the door bottle holders. However, I had a quick look and they looked to be square anyways! It's like Honda expected people to install the armrest so those slots were meant for that, not to be used for drinks.

Well 6 of those are for the front, 4 for the back. With the new armrest installed, that means 2 only for the back namely the door bottle holders. What if my passengers have a hot coffee? At least the all weather mats will be installed too to deal with the inevitable spills from people hanging onto their cups....

With my tongue in my little cheek, why don't you ask your rear passengers not to drink in the car? lol. Or worst case, have the front passenger pass them their drinks every time.

Very funny. You are right though that with the 2 extra "real cupholders" in the front, I can just store rear passenger drinks there. I really link how the console looks so don't regret the addition. I was just a bit surprised that it used both rear passenger cupholders (i.e. square slots) in the installation....
