All the dealers in the Vancouver BC area are charging MSRP. They are not discounting nor are they marking up.

Hey! I am from Vancouver as well and I don't think dealers are discounting from MSRP at all. Iam getting mine in a about 2 months and I plan to pay MSRP but will negotiate with them to include wheel locks, all weather floor mats, and cargo tray.

Someone PMd me and asked what I paid. Might as well share with everyone.

Paid MSRP on LX AT in Alberta.

Mandatory charges
$155 - block heater
$1,310 - freight/PDI
$20 - tire tax
$100 - air con tax
5% - GST

Free stuff I asked for and got
$695 - 3M clear bra on entire bumper, hood and mirrors

Free stuff they threw in at no charge (without my asking)
$288 - security program (i.e. window etching)
$xx - wheel locks, not sure what they're worth
$199 - administration fee

Accessories at additional cost
None

Extended warranty
Didn't take it but it's fully refundable at this dealership if not used during the extension period

MSRP in Victoria BC

We paid MSRP and got $1000 Provincial tax credit that's only big savings.

The cover, rear tray and all weather floor mats (a.k.a. protection package) saves 10% off buying the same items one at a time from the parts department. I still need to order the larger center console armrest.

Our salesman told us that Fits are selling really fast so don't expect any deals until spring or summer next year.

Do 09's qualify for the rebate as well? and how does that work? do you have to send in a form and wait for a check or does Honda take the X amount off at the dealer? thanks!

My dealer told me to wait for at least 6 months to get discount and it won't be much too. I think I'll buy one next year...

Same for us the dealer drops the tax by $1000 and does all the paperwork.

See if you can get stuff thrown in for free. It's easier for them to include $300 worth of accessories than it is to knock $300 off the price of the car because their cost on the accessories is considerably less than retail.
