new here...

just wanted to introduce myself

i'm thinking about purchasing a 2009 Fit. i currently am driving a 2008 VW R32. i freaking love the car, but I want to get out of my high car payments and my 18mpgs since i'll be moving away next fall for school

I'm looking into a Fit sport manual, msrp is $16,730 and i'm having a tough time finding one at msrp... any socal dealer recommendations are welcome

I'm planning on test driving one next week hopefully. I don't know how I feel about going from a 6 cyl 250hp AWD car to a 117hp economy car... but i've had Hondas in the past (06 Si) and I love them.

Welcome, I think it might be a little hard to find one at msrp but it is possible you just have to look around. The fit is fun to drive and I'm sure it won't be too bad. I came from 300hp RWD to the fit and Im enjoying it. Not as much fun but its still fun

Welcome to the forum and if you decide on the Fit you live in a great area where the Fit community is active
and growing. Let us know when you go for your test
drive and what you think about the car.

well, i went in for a test drive today. I had to test drive a crapomatic, since they didn't have a manual one to test drive. The inside was very spacious and it did not feel like a $16k economy car. it had very high quality materials, and felt very refined. now, coming from my 250hp R32, it felt very slow, but i expected it to. It still was pretty peppy and didn't really struggle accelerating. I tried playing around with the paddle shifters and didn't really like them. I'd definitely stick with a stick!

unfortunately, they appraised my car for less than i thought and I ended up being upside down quite a bit. That could be a deal breaker. I might go back tomorrow to drive a stick theyre getting in, and hopefully work out some better #s

I came from an 08 Accord Coupe 6MT, and I was faced with a similar situation. If I sold it myself I could theoretically get a lot more for it but it could potentially take months to sell, which I didn't have the patience for. I ended up trading it in and I was upside down, but I don't care. It was essential I get out of my Accord and get the Fit while I had the opportunity. I'm glad I did as I think it would be harder for me to find the car I want if I were shopping now or later.

I guess I'll jump in and say, this is my first post, and I just ordered CBP Sport, manual, on Friday! I can't wait to get it. They said it could take up to 3 months, but they might get one faster if they can locate it. In addition, I'm getting mine for MSRP no problem in Mi.

I'm coming from owning a well modified 2002 WRX. I really wish I still had it. Sold it because I was going to move out of the country. Drove a wobbly '89 Jeep Cherokee in the interim. The fit can't get here fast enough!!!

Cheers!
Brian

The dealer i talked to were selling me the car at MSRP, only if I buy $600 worth of accessories. does that sound fair? I would only really want floor mats. but they made it sound like if i don't like it, they have people lined up that will buy it instead

That's ridiculous in this economy. They're lucky that you even want to buy a car. Greedy people...

Hey welcome! Iam currently driving a 6 cylinder 250+hp car and when I drive the Fit I feel right at home! Its definitely a different experience but as long as you understand that one should judge a car objectively (on what its designed for as opposed to comparing it to other cars in a totally different category) then you will enjoy this little car!

That's where I got my car on Aug 27. They didn't add a markup and they didn't tell me to buy any accessories (except for the finance manager's specials), but they stiffed me on my trade and I was pretty furious. I shoulda walked out, but the car I wanted was right there ready for me. Glad I did, I just have to wince every time I have to make my monthly payoff for my trade in.
