You didn't get any of it in writing, so it doesn't matter; they are obviously going to deny it. Good luck fighting Honda, I would just be happy I got the Fit for MSRP.

A verbal commitment is a form of contract. But don't get me wrong... I am not saying to take them to court or anything. But I am saying apply some pressure (with outside help: BBB/Honda Corp) to get the dealer to do the right thing. and Yes, it is fairly good to even get the Fit @ MSRP (it is a great car), but keep in mind that OP was SWINDLED... he was not given something he paid for... that is what we need to focus on...

REALLY?!?..."a car that is hardly worth selling ..."?!?! When you can't get people on a Honda car lot to buy cars because of economy fears, and the Fit is the only Honda on the lot actually making gains in sales, can one say it's "hardly worth selling"?

"Honda, Japan's second-largest automaker, sold 96,626 vehicles, down from 127,200 a year earlier, spokesman Chris Martin said in an interview. Sales fell across the Tokyo-based company's product line, except for the revamped Fit subcompact, he said. " http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aA5.92WRqrHQ&refer=us

I understand a car dealer needs to make money, and the reason that dealers aren't flexible right now on the Fit is because they can still sell it, but don't alienate Fit buyers with a sour buying experience. If you aren't going to throw in any extras, don't tell buyers you will to make a deal. Many of us Fit buyers are Honda loyal and will buy another...just not from those dealers that create a terrible buying experience. The dealers that do just to make an extra buck today are being very shortsighted.

Car salepeople...they're a different breed. In fact they bring to mind those new Fit commercials where they're the fuelivores. Car salespeople be gone!

Oh, you're good! Of course then Honda would have to admit that their dealers are evil money-suckers!

Everyone really should go look at the new video game. Makes sense of the otherwise silly commercial.

Virtually all the Honda dealers in my area I've dealt with were a shady bunch. They will do or say anything to get you to close. This is the reason I did not buy the 07 over 2 yrs ago. I just got fed up with all their lies, and broken promises.

Paragon had offered me no dest charges, free mats, cargo cover, and cargo tray. Just a few hours later, when I came back with my check book everything was changed. And a friend of mine was the sales person, he said mgmt wont budge. So I told them goodbye, and never walked in there again!!!

Actually the only dealer, or should I say sales person who was not only honest, but more knowledgeable(not that I know that much) than me with regards to the Fit, was a salesperson at the very dealership you bought your 2 Fits (from what I recall in your pic thread on the license plate holders). I don't want to mention his name here online, but its the older gentleman with an affinity for the prancing horse car. Great person.

I really think it depends on the sales person, cause mgmt will always look at the profit margin and not at customer satisfaction, especially with the demand on this car being what it is. As mentioned if you dont buy it the next person will.

I hear you.
And sometimes it does not even matter who you know. Car sales is car sales, and you're a king until you take delivery, then you're the jester.

This is hilarious. You didn't do your due diligence to find out mats are not included. The sales girl most likely made an honest mistake. All you had to do was pay for some stupid floor mats, end of story. I don't understand why people get themselves all worked up over a little mistake. And big freakin' deal, you bought two Fits you high roller. They probably make 10x's more profit selling half a Ridgeline. Get over it and enjoy your Fits. (pun intended)

disagree...

before you sign any papers- you have to know what the deal is- and honestly I have no sympathy at all for ya- if you did not have knowledge of the workings of the car dealers- I would feel sympathy- but you know about this stuff- and you paid for your
ignorance.
