Intereference from tint?

I'm looking into tinting the windows on my new 09 fit and the tint shop mentioned that b/c the tint has some metal in it, it may cause intereference with my radio or gps signals. I have a garmin gps portable, not the built in nav. Has anyone experienced this intereference? Is it truly something to worry about? Thanks.

I've got some sort of 3M metallized tint on my windows (but not the quarterwindows or windshield), no probs w/ GPS reception (I have a Lorance 2000C with remote antenna I put on the dash).

The radio antenna is on the roof so I don't see how that could interefere w/ anything. I've listened to the radio for about 5 min before going back to USB - sounds much better! I don't miss those commercials. Although I do miss NPR sometimes.

I got this stuff, also. Ceramic, 100% metal-free, not cheap.

The performance stats aren't quite as strong as Huper Optik, but right up there. Unlike Huper, which has been known to interfere with GPS and AM signals, Formula One won't degrade radio, radar, or nav performance.

metallized film has a very minute amount of metal particles in it to reject heat better and give it that metallic look. unless a magnet sticks to your window tint, I wouldn't be so concerned.
