if you mountain bike fear not!

So I went out and bought a brand new fit, and I have to say its a pretty nice car...getting around 38 mpg at 25% city and 75% highway, and highway speeds of 65-70...it has ample power, and I recently fit 3 passengers on a lunch outing at work, one was 6'5" and the other is 6 foot.  Getting to freeway speeds is easy, does need to be in a lower gear to climb steep hills like other four bangers, and the little 1.5 liter engine is a tad loud, but  one of the most important things is:

yep thats a 29er, and my Girlfriends 13 inch Iron Horse with plenty of room for backpacks...

oh nice pix and props getting those bikes in your car neatly! I can fit my mtb and gf's cruiser bike, but they have to go in sideways. Most likely because the front wheel is not quick release and i'm too lazy to bring tools haha. I wonder if there is more room to fit bikes for 09 than 08..

Well I was amazed my 29er fit, with the larger wheels it makes the bike much longer than a standard 26 inch wheel bike.

I was in a hurry the first time I had to load mine, so I did the fail-safe method of removing the quick-release front wheel, laying all the seats down, and throwing it in there....that would be nice if mine could fit in tall mode, plus I like the idea of setting up the DIY 2x4 with the bike clamps on em...

I saw this thread just before I bought my Fit, and it influenced my decision. I just tried my bike, a Gary Fisher Ferrous 29er with 17.5" frame. Looks like there's plenty of room for another bike too! Thanks FitFreaks Forums!
