I am pretty sure I will be getting a job offer to move to Chicago, and will be living downtown. We just bought my wife an '08 TSX, and me the '09 Fit. We won't need both cars, so will have to sell one.

I know we will get a better deal on the Fit (lose less money), but I REALLY don't want to sell it. We might put both cars up for sale and see which one goes first. If I have to sell the Fit, how much do you think I'll be able to get for it?

I would certainly start asking at $19250, but realistically if you were able to get it at MSRP so can others. Depending on how fast they're moving off the lots where you live, and depending on your time frame, you might need to dip down to the mid/upper 18's to entice a buyer since it is "used" (even with only 300 miles on it). Also, do used car buyers pay a higher sales tax than new car buyers in your state? That may also factor into the final number.

 

just start off of what KBB value... and try going to CARMAX if you have one there.

Since FIT is selling so fast you might be able to get rid of it on your asking price.

 

I just totaled my '07 with 11,800 miles. Insurance paid $19500. In your poll I voted for the $18500 to $19000 but that is if you want to sell it quickly. If you're in no rush, hold out for kbb top value. This is the first car I have owned that sells for more used than it did when new, and sells for even more than that when ruined.

 

That's a shame, you gotta get rid of such a nice car, your right about losing less money with the Honda for sale.
