Took off my bumper to do the DIY custom grille and notice

Where the front bumper meet the fenders, Honda actually put a washer sandwich in between to give some space and it is still tight but it does help to avoid the paint peeling issues that happen to the 1st gen Fit because it was a darn tight fit that happen to my 07 Fit paint peelings on both L&R fenders. You can almost guaranteed that if it wasn't for the spacers, the 09 will have the same paint peelings issues too cause even with the spacer in there, it is still tight but it get the job done. I am fixing a minor scratch on the fender and I also notice that Honda clearcoat is so thin that using a 3000 grit for less than 10sec. and it already gets to the paint but no damage so I stop immediately to avoid getting to the primer but I did get the scratch out though. Lastly I was looking underneath the rear subframe Honda put a plastic rear diffuser just like my TSX so maybe it does help with the wind resistance and on fuel economy.
