Bought it! Er, now what?

So, anyone have a good list of things to do & get once one gets a new Fit? (Red 09 Base AT.)

I have floor mats.

Any one stop list of things to get (cleaning supplies, setting changes, ...), things to do, ....

It's all up to you. What do you want for your new Fit?

Primarily commuter car, wanting relatively low maintenance. Maybe in a year I'll make some minor mods for performance.

I'm currently considering side molding, maybe center console if I miss it too much, and I need to get some new car cleaning material. Oh, and I don't have a garage for cars (just for stuff....)

EDIT: Short term, looking at what, if any, type of 'protection' thing to get to help it look new longer, and then car care products (as well as options as mentioned above.) And in a year or two I may consider mods that increase FE or comfort, such as springs, aero under pannel, maybe update pulleys (NST - The Leader In Honda Fit Pulleys), performance plus FE, depending on how driven.... ;-)

For now, I'd say just stick with the floor mats. Get the armrest if you feel it's worth it.

Start saving up for those mods! =D

Yea like he said stick with that and put aside a little every month till u know what u want from the car. I was not going to mod the FIT when i first bought it, i only bought it for a DD and it was cheap and a good car. Now i have done some mods like rebadged, yellow fogs, painted manifold cover, mugen oil cap, mugen radiator cap, spoon sweat bands, jazz door sills, 30% tint all around, and mugen knock off visors. I have progress lowering springs just have not put them on yet. Next i want to get some new wheels and maybe a greddy ti exaust. After that i should be done might get a new driver seat and some led lights for inside the car though. But i like the fit its a great little car.

First things first - program your doors so they don't lock passengers in the car. Unless, you want to keep them forcefully inside your Fit?

You might want to put in a grille of some sort in the lower air dam to protect the AC condenser. Also if you feel you need it - replace the meepy meep horn.

For car care products - Meguiars is my favorite. NTX 2.0 tech wax to protect the paintwork, interior protectant less important but does make the plastics look a ton better. Use micro fiber cloths and a chamois to dry it after washing.

The fit is my savings plan for a house and a 135i. I plan on doing some style mods. And no performance mods. Due to this being my daily driver for years to come. Gonna bury this fit in my yard

Have the windows tinted!

Get a few cleaning supplies, including a clay kit, some good washing soap, a shi1load of microfiber towels, 2 or 3 buckets, a good hose sprayer.

As soon as you can, wash your car using 2 buckets, one to wash, one to rinse, do one section at a time. Take the detailing spray and use the clay bar all over your car, you will see as you go along just how smooth it can actually feel. After it's all clayed, rinse it down and wax it. Take photos and post them here!

+1 on getting the windows tinted. If you want some type of "protection" to keep it looking newer longer you should look into getting a 3M Clearbra or Venture Shield. Pricey but worth it IMO. Check out my post on it:

Thanks all everyones feedback so far. I'm adding to my list....

I changed my doorlocks so they all unlock when the car is put in park.

Went through the Meguirs web site for lots of ideas on what to get for clay/wax/....

Any pointers on where to look for a lower air dam grill?
