I am very interested in being a first time Fit Buyer .
but it has to be able to able to have Yakima style racks ,
I'm an avid Kayaker and snowboarder and have the accessories that fit the Yaks . Yakima says they don't have a rack yet to fit the 2009's , ( they have one for the 08 model but haven't tested any on the 2009's )Does anyone know for sure if the 08 model rack fits on the 2009's ? Thanks in advance , TB.

 

I am also interested in a Yakima rack.

A friend in Phoenix has one on a Jetta, which uses the same Q5 clips as the older Fit, but I haven't made the trip to try it out. I'll let you know when I do.

 

I bought the same Yakima setup that is used for the 2008 Fit (Q5 clips, etc.) - I have a 2009 Fit Sport. It works just fine.

I carry a kayak with Mako saddles, and a windsurfer next to it. Followed the instructions to set it up for the 2008 Fit and everything was fine.

I'm a big whitewater buff , good to know that the 2008's will fit the Fit (2009) . Have to have my fix every so often .

 

The yakima roof rack system is available for the 2009 fit now. The q-clips (Q99) are different than the 08's. I just installed it, looks and fits great.
