Finally, a Sunny Day! Let the Sunshine In!
Today was the first sunny day since installing the sunroof a week ago! It might have been sunny earlier in the week, but I never saw it - I work 7AM to 7PM and never see the light of day behind the wheel.
So with the sun shining, my wife and son and I got into the SunLit Fit and went over to one of our state parks to enjoy some nature. Some guys were running R/C cars in the parking lot (one was big scale, 4.5 HP two stroke baja racer looking thing - the lot wasn't big enough to run it wide open for very long). Over a polo field, some R/C planes were flying.
Then we went to one of our area's landmark hamburger stands and had lunch. The car was a joy to use today, with the sunlight streaming in, fresh air too. The open roof on a blustery day was noisy at highway speeds, and I don't mind it, but my wife and son did so we had it closed sometimes.
I'm glad I did it. And I'm getting used to the way it looks, and I'll probably not black out the area around it. Which leaves me with four 6.5" x 70" strips of black shiny vinyl to play with. Racing stripes perhaps?

It may not be as slick as the factory "skyroof" in other markets, but I can see the sky and I'm enjoying the view.
PS.. funny how the bright sun messes with the white balance of the digital camera, but the sunroof which filters UV light well shows true blue sky. Neat.
