Cargo Cover

Is there a different Cargo Cover available, other than the shelf style?

The shelf style one is a little strange with the buttons connection to the back seats.

You know the reason why they left a little gap there that is because the backseats can recline a bit right? (at least I'm pretty sure that's the reason). Also, if the buttons weren't there you can kinda see what's in your back with that little gap there. Of course you don't *have* to attach the buttons if you don't want to, it's just there to fulfill it's entire purpose: cargo COVER. With my old station wagon, i had one of those nylon retractable covers that you pull out...and I'm pretty sure the reason they don't have that for the Fit is because there's basically no room for you to pull anything. It's a pretty small back with the seats up, so there's no point in making a retractable cover.

Anyways I know this doesn't answer your question directly, but I do hope that it clears some things up and helps you understand that there's not much better that you can do with it, at least not that I know of.

The '08s have a retractable cover and the '09s are longer. I think a lot of people preferred the retractable style. This is one of the few changes on the new Fits that seems to perplex people.

I didn't like the buttons at first, but they unsnap easily if you put the seats down while they're still attached.

I'm actually pretty fond of this cargo cover. I just leave it unsnapped and recline the back seats (which fills in the gap enough so that no one can see what's under there. Then I don't have to keep unsnapping and snapping the cover when I want to put the seats down and up all the time.

How do you put tall stuff in the back with the 09' cargo cover, even when the seats are down? It seems like they would be in the way, not to mention they're attached to the cargo hatch door with those two lines.

Yeah I agree... It would've been nice to have the option of retractable, or flip. Who know's maybe some one will make it aftermarket.
