"09" cargo cover

I just don't understand Honda. I recently bought the cargo cover
for my 09 Fit Sport. They really should have added those 2 inches onto
the back so it would actually reach to the backseats and leave no gaps.
And the flap part with the snap buttons is just crazy. I don't see the point to that at all.

Yea--I just removed the felt flap and reinstalled the clips onto the cover.
I then put my seats reclined back and there is only a finger gap there.

You can not even tell.

If you want pics, let me know.

It looks very nice and I didn't have to put holes in my seats (nor will I have to put holes in my soon to come Leather Clazzio Seat Covers).

The back seats partially recline. In the recline setting, there is much less of a gap. The seats would not have been able to recline if the cover went all the way to the back of the seats.

And the seats wouldn't have been able to recline if the roller shade style had been made (like GDs) which would install right behind the seats. There'd be a gap (the seat reclining has to GO somewhere).

I realize it's only a small amount of reclining. But a person in the back seat would really appreciate it on a long trip. Might be able to get a little more comfortable or take nap or at least shift position for awhile.

How I wish we'd had a Fit around when I was a kid on long road trips with the parents and siblings. Why my dad picked out two-door vehicles made to seat 4 when there were 5 of us, I will NEVER understand.

Someone had to sit on the hump.

No spacious back windows that might keep kids busy or give them something to do (look out , make faces at other people , whine about not stopping at something that appeals to kids ) while traveling.

It's a strange design, but it's not too bad in practice. I guess it was the only way with the "reclining" seat. As others have said, you can remove the flap, leave it hanging, or even put velcro across it (it will stick to the seat back).

You don't actually have to make holes...they are pre-drilled, you are simply screwing the snaps into them...so if you were to remove them I don't think there'd be a very noticeable hole in the fabric.

Just tint your windows at your states limit and forget the cover, with a dark tint people will have a hard time seeing inside.

I got my 09 FIT - was thinking putting valco tape - somehow I dont like the idea of "screwing" onto my seat neither...

yah, me neither. just remove the flap. it gets into the way anyway the next time you flatten your seats. not sure why honda didn't use the pull type like on the 07-08's on the 09's.

I personally find the CR-V's method of solving this problem sort of ok...

granted, I'd prefer if the primary support bar was closer to the seat rather than 50% of the way through the cargo area...
