3-500 over invoice is usually a decent deal for a dealer and the buyer. There is always a minimum holdback price for car dealers, but the more they sell, the better incentives they get on their next batch of cars. I really liked the purchase process when I bought mine, I said, Do you have this color/option/trim? I worked auto biz my whole life, if you have it, i will buy it just over invoice, no warrantees, no selling, no test drive, just wash it and go.

I seriouly got to the dealer, drove it around the block still wrapped in plastic. Went into finance, chopped it up with the finance dude. All the salespeople and finance guy and everyone was askin me about the accord, and when I was gonna bring the fit by all hooked up, since I mod the shit out of everything. They gave us sodas and stuff while they washed the car, and then we drove home. No pressure, no haggle, no hassle. Honda of Oakland is the shit. If you are in the bay, they are a GREAT dealer to deal with. And that was when gas was like $5 a gallon. I can't believe its back over $3 again, sucks, you know it will hit 4 by labor day.

My other hondas in the past have come from Hansel Honda(owned by same dealer group I worked for as a kid) and they actually sold me my accord, my sisters accord, my moms accord, all for at invoice or a couple hundred over. I actually tipped the sales guy cash on my accord because I got it for less than it cost them to get it for me. But then again, I send them tons of business. All my neighbors converted to honda people

I'm actually considering selling my fit once my GF gets a new civic I wonder how much I could sell it for privately. Only have $11k to pay on it, but once my GF gets a civic I wanna sell the fit and get a 4x4 tacoma.

I was just quoted 15,855 for a MT Fit Sport including destination but no tax+tags. I think I can do a little dealer competition email game and get em down a bit.

I've bought mine (Manual LX) 16 980 $ CAD with all-weather floor mats, Cargo Tray, Rear and Front splash guards and Hood deflector. That's 400$ off MSRP here in Quebec

Red face

Just bought a 2009 Blue Sensation Pearl Fit Sport with A/T for $16,645

Out the Door price (including any fees, tax and license) = $17,700

Whew! This board was definitely a help with negotiations.

LX is traditionally mid-line model for all Hondas. They don't sell LX in the states on the fit tho, I think Canada has them though.

what was your negotiation technique? That's a really good price. Is all the taxes and registration stuff added into the 16800 already?

Yep. Went to the Honda dealer in Davis Ca just a few hours ago. Still have to decide by Wednesday if I want a Fit or a Civic. Hard choice but a fun one. Just wish the Fit stereo was better.

So is this costco auto buying program pretty easy to use? I just put in my info on the costco website a few minutes ago. They said they sent my info over to the nearest honda dealer to me. Now, do I just show up there with my costco card and they'll give me about a thousand off just like that?

Costco auto progam is VERY easy and reasonable. Many times the Costco price is better than employee/family prices. I have worked for car dealers since I was a kid, and for people who want to save BS/negotiations, and know what car they want, it's a GREAT way to go. I actually just switched to costco insurance from state farm(which is usally super cheap) and I'm saving 250 every 6 months, so 500/year on the fit.

15,500 +++

16,349 OTD

2009 Fit Sport M/T

Vann York Honda in High Point, NC

I had to finance with Honda to get that price b/c there was a $500 incentive to the dealer, but I got a great interest rate. I am very happy.
