Oil Plug Washers WTB?
I have been searching on the site for a while can I cannot find where you guys are buying the oil plug washers?
I work on all of my cars and I have never seen a drain plug "needing" washer let alone a "new" washer with each oil change.
Any help on where to buy would be great.

contrary to what the manual says, you wont need to replace them every time, but you can get them here:
2009 Honda Fit Parts - Maintenance Parts
They come with the filter.

GREAT INFO!! Thanks!
I was also hoping to use Honda oil filters and now I can get both in shot.
For my Marauder, I always use Motorcraft filters and Syn-Blend oil, for my Fit I was hoping to use Honda Filters yet I don't know what oil Honda Recommends.
I buy my Motorcraft filters for just over $3. Is this a good price for these Honda filters or do you know of a cheaper source?

I only user Shaeffer's Oil in my vehicles. Love the stuff...

yeah College Hills is pretty much the best as far as Honda parts online. But you may be able to save shipping costs by just getting the filters/washers from your dealer.

For 07s and 08s Honda recommends 5W20 oil, not sure about 09s. If you have an 09 it should be in your manual. If you order from College Hills (as I often do) you can save on shipping by ordering several things at once (several oil filters, air filters, cabin air filters, touch up paint, any accessories you might want, etc.).

If you can find the genuine Honda oil filter for $3 or cheaper, please let us all know. I know I paid more than that for mine thru College Hills (I think almost twice that with shipping).

This is my first Honda so I have no sources (yet).

i work at a honda dealership
it is always recommended to change the washer out on every oil change
no matter what car
we require the techs here to do it on every car that get an oil change
why? i dont knw, but i just know it is recommended to do it.

JUST GO TO ANY HONDA DEALER and ask for part # 94109-14000 it's a 14mm aluminum crush washer,
when you tighten down the drain plug it crushes and keeps the bolt tight, you can use it more than once but it might start to drip in your driveway
the washer is only 30 cents and is cheap insurance against stripping the oil pan (can happen because when the washer crushes (yes you can feel it) it tells you that it's tight)

The folks on BITOG seem to like Motorcraft oil as a good value, and not just for Fords. If your Marauder uses 5W20 like some Fords do, I wouldn't hesitate to use Motorcraft 5W20 for both vehicles. You don't really need to run Motorcraft in the Marauder due to the Motorcraft-Ford connection though, as any SM rated oil is pretty good. You'd be fine with Pennzoil, Mobil, etc., or sticking with Motorcraft.

you don't have to change the washer. no leaks either. but if you want to, you can get them at the honda parts dept. and there's nothing wrong with fram oil filters either. as long as you change it at the proper intervals everything is fine, no matter the brand. unless it's some bootleg home-made brand...then you might have problems.

If you like oil filters end caps made out of cardboard and poor construction
If one follows Honda's recommended maintenance. The Oil filter can be on the car for at least a year.
Judge for yourselves.

Most independent filter reviews that I have read in the past always stated the low quality of Fram filters. Especially on the way they designed the drain back valve.
I will make sure to only use "15400-PLM-A01" if I go with Honda filters (which I am not so sure about anymore).

The best engineers at Honda couldn't figure out a way design an oil plug that doesn't need a washer (like most, if not all, other manufactures)?

They are A02 Frams. They used to have the A01 and I stocked on them few years back. Now my stock is depleting.
I emailed College Hills today and they do have the A01. Another nice filter is the Napa Gold, made by Wix.
