USB problem

I have a new fit, 09, and I'm trying to get a USB flash drive to work. Drive is 16GB, is that too big? When I put it in the receptical, display just reads USB LOADING or something like that, I thought maybe with the number of songs it would just take a while to index or something. I gave it 20min (the whole drive to work) and it still didn't work. At lunch I tried taking someof the songs off, took it down to about 10GB and still had the same problem. Drive is formatted as FAT32, anyone else have a similar issue?

Thanks. Good car besides this.

I remember reading a thread on here that said certain flash drives don't work... I tried to do a search for you but the search feature on fit freak sucks...

I'm using an 8gb that's working. I don't think the size of the drive would matter, tho...

great, thanks pizzicato. i tried a search as well, but didn't find that!

i'll give this a try in about 10 minutes. i just tried formatting to NTFS but had the same problem. i'll let you know if it resolves it.

edit: just tried a friends 2gb NTFS flash, it worked in about 10 seconds. so it seems that the fit recognizes NTFS no problems.

I run a Kingston 32GB flash drive (FAT32). Works like a charm!

reako, could you check your allocation size for me? if you don't know how, go to windows explorer, right click, click "format" (don't worry it won't) and then when you get to the format screen it'll show an allocation size which should be the one on the drive currently.

thanks!
