USB flash drive "unsupported"
I just bought a 16GB Sandisk Cruzer Micro flash drive to put all my mp3s... but when I plug it into USB interface, my radio says "unsupported". Then, I put some of the same mp3s on my old 512MB Sandisk Cruzer Titanium and that one plays fine.
DO you guys think the Cruzer Micro is unsupported because of its 16GB size OR because of the model/speed (has lower r/w mbps than Titanium)??

Thanks guys... I originally did reformat but since this is one of the new Sandisk drives, it still contained that extra U3 system partition.
With some google'n, I was able to find their uninstaller here: (http://u3uninstall.s3.amazonaws.com/U3Uninstall.exe)
Thus, turning the U3 flash drive into a regular USB storage.
It now works in my FIT!!

Like a WD passport? I've been wondering about it so I'll transfer everything to my PC and see if it works. I have a 60gig. If something goes wrong I'm blaming YOU

I actually have over a Tera Byte of music to be quiet honest. The reason why I was curious about the WD drives is b/c I have 20 of them laying around doing nothing. It would be super sweet if the Honda Navi can accept the drive - this way we all can drive around a juke box without tying up my iPhone which I need next to me to make/receive phone calls.
I tried formating the WD drive in NTFS format but no dice....I'm going to try FAT32 next and will post after. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

EDIT: Well, there is no FAT32 option with this drive using Vista, only exFAT and NTFS...don't think that's gonna be supported. Time to check the manual.

Keep in mind the Fit has a 700 folder limit though it will handle 65,535 files...got that much????
The folder limitation is a bummer if you want to sort by artist and album. I've hit the folder limit with mine...
I was not able to get any of my external hard drives to work using multiple formatting techniques. Tried WD500, WD320 Passport, Maxtor120, etc. Finally broke down and got a 32GB Kingston from Newegg - good to go.

It has it's limitations but I'm damned glad we have this option in our Fits. My entire CD collection and then some fit's on this 32 gig drive. Plenty enough for me.

Hey Guys,
Okay I just got back from my lil test drive. Keep in mind today is the first day that I got my fit so I'm still having a jolly time figuring out all the techs equipped in the car. I can tell you the Navi is far superior when compared to my 2007 fully loaded FX35. The stupid Infiniti does not even come with an IPOD adapter, granted it is a 48 thousand dollar car. Stupid!! Anyways I'm loving the fit!!!! Best bang for the money.
With that said, I formatted 400GB Western Digital Drive using SwissKnife V3 and created a 32GB primary partition as a FAT32 file system. I dragged a couple of folders into it and it worked like a charm. This is the best thing ever!! Next up, I'm going to try to create a larger volume partition and see if the Navi can recognize the drive. A USB jump drive might be a great solution since there are no moving parts and draws less power from the unit. Also having the WD hard drive in the glove compartment can be quite noisy at times when you are riding over bumps.....
