civic or fit
civic or fit
looking at a getting a civic ex or a fit sport
drove both like them both
do they both have timing chains or do they still use a belt that requires changing at 100,000 miles?
leaning toward the civic but the fit was a little more fun to drive.

I don't need cargo space 99% of the year...
I chose Fit because of its charm and character. It's less known than a Civic, and I like hatchbacks, and the Fit is sexy and appealed to me.

I considered both the civic lx (coupe) and fit sport. For the price, you just get more with the fit sport. I also wanted a hatchback and something that's still 100% made from Japan. I can't remember if the civic had a usb interface either.
Now if they brought back a civic hatchback, I might have opted for that.

Like many posted here, I would choose a fit.
Reasons:
- Civic 4 door is a family car // Civic Coup have low headroom
- Civics are nice to begin with... but you get bored of the dashboard // Gauges very quickly...
- Fit sport is Still MADE IN JAPAN (GD/GE)
- The "New civic" has been around for 4 yrs now? Prolly gonna have a facelift soon... The GE is just out and will be around with the same look for some time...
- Civics are EVERYWHERE~ Fits are NOT AS Everywhere? @@
- Fit is a hatchback~ \0/\0/\0/

IMO Civics have a rewind name since so many people have riced out the early generation civics. I love civics but Fits are fresh. Id get a fit if I had to choose.
BUT! Id rather get an S2000 overall

Buy a Fit with your Civic money and you will still have left over cash for mods. I asked for a vehicle summary sheet on the civic LX ($21000) and it is almost not worth buying after freight/ delivery fee ($1200+), taxes, ($2800+) and other random charges ($400+). My Fit Sport is $20700 CDN inc. taxes.
The reasons we bought the Fit were I've wanted one since the first gen came out everywhere else in the world and the paddle shifters with the A/T. Having never had a car with an A/T, I wanted a car with paddle shifters so I would still feel some sense of involvement with the car.
In response to your question concerning timing belt or timing chain, a google search indicates the Civic and Fit both have timing chains.

I am hatch positive, cannot see ever buying a car in anything other than a hatch version. So until the civic returns to their hatch roots, my $$$$ goes to the Fit Sport. A MazdaSpeed3 is tempting as well.
LOL exactly what I was thinking. Im sure all the guys in the civic forums said civic huh!
