Center armrest wanted....OE of aftermarket?

I would like too get a center armrest for my 09 Fit base AT. I searched ebay, and found 2 types, a cheaper aftermarket that installs in 5 minutes with 4 screws, from $45 to $70 (most for sale from Hong Kong) or the Honda Original equipment armrest for $170. The Honda armrest looks larger, with a larger storage compartment. I am concerned about how the Honda armrest would install. Anybody bought either one of these? as an add-on, and please express your likes and dislikes. How hard is installation of the Honda armrest?

From other DIY threads I've read the Honda armrest install is pretty straight forward. Less than an hour I believe.

in addition:
I'm having trouble deciding between the OEM, and the one offered by Zeta.
Any opinions?

personally, i love the OEM armrest from honda. it's a quick install and the quality is top notch.

my only gripes are; the storage compartment is very shallow. the center console of my DC2 was twice as deep and just as wide and the top, sliding portion, is a PITA to slide back into place once you've slid it forward.

it matches the interior perfectly though and looks great.

hope that helps

I have installed the oem center console and it's not as simple as you might assume. It's not just a bolt on, there is cutting/drilling required...

First, you have to remove the center plastic trim. Be careful with the plastic clips.

Next, you have to drill into the trim in 6 different places in a few various sizes. Measure twice, drill once!

After that, you must fiddle with the E-brake bracket, remove it and replace it with a different bracket. There's a fair bit of tension on the bracket from the e-brake cables so its a little tricky to line up the bolt holes.

Put the trim back on, with the center console now attached via the new drilled holes. Bolt on the rear, lower bolts to secure the arm rest to the chassis.

It's a nerve racking experience to drill into a brand new car. Some of the drill holes need to be very precise. The holes are marked put the plastic is a little flimsy

I'm a competent female when it comes to minor mechanical tasks like this. I made no mistakes and broke nothing in the process. It was a tad stressful at times . But, the console is well worth the money imo. The fit and finish of it is excellent and the comfort and usability is good.

Hope that helps.
