Windshield issue covered under warranty?

I'm having a peculiar problem right now.

Tonight when it was -20 I got into my fit and started the car. I started the car and started fiddling with my ipod while I was waiting for the car to get some what warm, I adjusted my HVAC to blow against the front wind screen and feet when all of a sudden the windshield cracked (6 inches). There was no movement, no loud slams, the radio wasn't even turned on. Has anyone had this issue and does anyone know if its covered under warranty ?

I guess I have never heard that before. I would think no because it is normally covered under insurance but glass shouldn't just crack like that.

your car cant be very old (2nd gen?), flaw in the glass or it was tight fit. Maybe caused by a small rock chip?
Take it to the dealer first, plead your case! Happened to me once.
