Lightbulb Torks $11 grill mod /pics replaced/added with better

I am usually pretty picky and shy away from many cosmetic mods
(plus we are waiting on all the good stuff, springs/coilovers etc.)

But when I was doing my Fiamm dual horn install........I thought hmmm, what if I........?

So I tried it out
on to the pics adding chrome strip to the top of the grill, door edge guard material works perfectly.

Dont know Dave, it wont work on the lower part of the usdm grill as there is no edge. It will work on the lower usdm grill on 2 of the 3 horizontal bars.

Think it will come off easy, but really liking it in person, pics arent good the flash takes away the contrast of the black and chrome. I'll have to shoot in sunlight.... oh that's right, this is chicago not sure if sunlight is in the plans LOL

oh man I hate that stuff when it is put on door edges, looks like complete crap!
And wanted a distinctive grill, but so far dont like any of the $150+ plus ones plus that is $$ better spent on forged wheels and coilovers.
The reason this mod looks good is because it is very subtle

Definitely. If you have a picture further away from the car, I would like to see it.

That looks really good. Just enough of an accent.

As far as the bottom part of the upper grille, I wonder if you could use the product shown here that has an "L" shape, Stick On Door Edge:
Cowles Products - Automotive Molding & Striping

I don't think you'd NEED to add more. The accent is very nice, adds a bit of shine!

Interesting. It gives me the idea to try adding a trim to the front edge of the hood but in black.

Not bad, not bad at all. I think it looks nice on the GE nose.

Now, sell pieces of your leftover trim to other fitfreaks, and maybe you can change your subject to "Tork's $2 grille mod"!

Interesting to note that a bit of chrome on the grill may be popular enough that tuner companies like Spoon are NOT removing it, they kept the JDM RS grill.
