Center Console question

This may be a stupid question, but I'm truly puzzled. I just got my center console installed today and while trying it out, I slid the armrest forward. Now it seems locked in that position and I can't slide it back. Is there a button or something that I need to press to unlock it?

I have the same arm rest, but no problems. I doubt that it would hurt anything if you gave it a light smack on the front edge with the palm of your hand. Maybe the little spring loaded detents that hold the top at the various positions in its forward travel just got a little stuck at the max forward position. This is a very heavy duty assembly, and you probably couldn't damage it with a sledge hammer, so give it a hit or two to get it unjammed. The movement should get easier the more you do it. It might even be easier if you raise it to the vertical position, then tap the rest until it can be moved back down.

Yeah Matt- don't hit your console with a sledge hammer.

I know mine was INCREDIBLY stiff the first time I did this and took some real oomph to push it back in place. To be honest, not sure I've tried doing this since - no real need.

I just use the palm of my hand and give it a quick, short but firm hit. That usually jars it loose but sometimes it can be stubborn.

Exclamation It's a pretty tight-fitting top

Mine's like that too.

Actually, it slides forward fairly easily, but not backward. Like others said, just smack it straight back and it'll go.

Now that I've gotten used to it, I like it being this tight. It doesn't slide out of position once you have it set. I normally like it all the way forward. It's comfortable for my arm and I like how it looks.

It is also very tight to raise/lower, but it feels right.
