today i noticed about a 9 inch long, 1/16th inch thick, white elastic string dangling out at the bottom of my driver's door. its clearly an internal part of the door which came loose.... it's hanging at the bottom of the door between the plastic interior and metal exterior of the door.

does anyone have any idea what the purpose of this string is?

should i just cut it and be done with it?


it's the same door in which the window rattles a bit.

 

actually, I had the same thing on my 07 fit passenger seat. I think it was used to hold a protective thing in place.

 

I had the same thing.... I took off the door panel to check it out and it looks like it was left there after assy... pull it out or cut it off you'll be fine...

it struck me as weird because it's such a flimsy thing.... but it also happened to emerge on the same door where i have a slightly annoying, rattling window.

 

I had the same thing...I think it's part of a clear plastic protective bag or wrap. I think they pull off protective wraps during PDI and the string is left over. Just pull it out.

 

Same thing here....ripped it out when I saw it. MAN you guys will start a thread about anything!!
