Replacing the tire sucks

I just took a long road trip down to NADA in New Orleans over the weekend and I guess on our way back to Atlanta, we ran over a nail somewhere along the way.

Well, apparently replacing the stock tires on this new Fit is a PITA. Nobody carries this tire, not even the dealer yet... they had to order it and hopefully it'll get taken care of in a couple of days.

-1 to Honda for the custom sized tires... otherwise, 100% satisfaction.

Yup. We noticed that in our area too. I'm hoping and praying not to have any problems with the tires.

Sorry for your frustration! Maybe this is what will be stolen from our cars... lol.

You can try tirerack. Their shipping is usually quite fast.

Had a couple flats, one from a pothole and another from a 4x4 post on the highway. The only problem I had was the price, the tires are really expensive, never had a problem with them being in stock.

replace them with 195 or 205/50's, you can find tons of options often times a set of 4 for the price of one O.E. tire.

Also Search, this topic has been covered many times.

Yeah frickin expensive cause not many choices, tire rack is usually pretty good .......but........

true story
last August, I blew a tire on my 07 GD3, no big deal as tire rack had the 185-55-15 dunlop SP31 for like $71 and they are 1 day ground delivery to me.

....But noooooooo...............!

I caught a period where they were on national back order for 3 weeks
Had to get it from my local Honda stealer for $112

Sometimes you just cant win

Just had a flat yesterday (Dunlops). Took it to get it fixed and of course it was too close to the sidewall to fix. Looked on TireRack and it is "on backorder". Discount tires says they cannot get them till next year. It turns out you can only get them from the dealer (at least around here). The dealer said they are not released to the tire distributors yet.

Yeah, that would be the way to go, but I really haven't planned on buying 4 new tires right now. When it's time, that's definitely what I intend to do.

I guess my point was, I got 4 new 205's for about $50 more than one OEM Dunlop.

I didn't look very far into the replacements. The dealer charged me $115 for the tire, mount and balance. The tire store did say that if you went with the other sizes you had a lot more choices and lower prices. If this happens to any of the other tires, I think I will replace all 4.

not sure where the nail penetrated, but you can have the shop patch it up if it wasn't on or near the sidewall.
