Custom Switch

Here are some pics of my custom switch install. The area for the OEM switches is perfect. This particular switch will be used to control my radar detector. I popped out one of the blank covers and used a Dremel to carve out a hole. The switch is an SPST rocker, available at your local radioshack for 2.99. Im sure others can get creative with their switches.

i've always wanted to make me a smokescreen or oil slick or blinding light switch for use whenever a tailgater just doesn't get the message otherwise. i guess the blinding light is the only feasible one.

nice work, btw.

I'm using a Whistler XTR-690. I used to have a Passport Escort 8500 X50. I was shopping around for a radar detector for my mother and tested both of them simultaneously and found the range and accuracy to be very similar. Once my X50 started having CAL issues (my fault for leaving it in the sun 24/7) I picked up an XTR-690 for myself. RadarTest.com - Best radar detector reviews from the world's most respected authority. has really good reviews on detectors.

The switch looks upside down. Pressing the top should be for "on".

hehe..I like being different. Seriously though, the switch is designed with the white marker indicating the circuit is closed. You can position the switch with the white marker up, down, left, or right.
