Shell's Nitrogen Gasoline

Shell just came out with nitrogen enriched gasoline. At first I was like, "hmmm ok. Windex is basically NH3 and it does a good job cleaning." But idk. Sounds like another gimmick that means less btu's per gallon, not to mention the price increase. What do you guys think?

last time i checked the air we breath is 73% nitrogen. nitrogen is an inactive gas unless introduced to higher heat temperatures but it doesnt burn.

no one ever has a bottle of nitrogen in their car.

i personally think it is just another scam to get you to buy their gas.

Ive always used shell or chevron anyways. Theyve both been in the top tier gasoline brands consistently.

Was the Shell announcement from marketing or engineering?

Chevron regular here! If I want to clean my engine I'll run Royal Purple for two oil changes.

yeah i saw the nitrogen thing too. The shell stations over here have little TV's to watch on each pump(duno if all shell stations have TVs). It plays a shell commercial with "engineers" in white lab coats talking about the nitrogen gasoline. LOL. I'm sure they're not real engineers though. I thought i saw one of the guys in a burger king commercial before. LOL!

Shell is already more expensive than any other gas I see on the road. I guess this is their way of justifying the price. Too bad it is likely the same gas you get from 7-Eleven.

LOL. 7/11. Actually where i pump gas, thers a shell, mobil, and chevron all on opposite corners of the same intersection. The shell station is always packed because its the cheapest. The mobil is the same price as the shell but everyone wants shell's gas. LOL

Nowadays, I'll get my gas anywhere, and rarely pay attention to where I even am.

Is that bad?

This is one of the reasons I switched from my '02 BMW 3 series - I didn't want to think about what type of gas I was putting in my car.

I bet we are talking about the same "engineer". I've seen the Asian looking guy in like 5 other commercials. One was direct tv another was some insurance commercial.
