Tire measurments

When i bought the base 2009 Honda fit i knew instantly that i had to replace the rims... only one problem; i cannot find the specs of tires: what are the max and min offset's, and what is the max size rim you can safely put on the fit with out altering handling and performance?

Look up wheels or rims on the forum and you'll find plenty of info on what people have put on there with and without the car being lowered (mostly with the car being lowered). Most people have put 16's on their car, but there have been a few with 17's with no problems (offset around +43 to +50). I don't think I've seen anyone with 18's on yet, but that's just what I've seen. Like I said, do a search and you'll find threads to keep you busy for a while.

Any change in tire/rim size will alter handling and performance.

I was under the impression that there is a orange GE8 on 18s in SoCal owned by a certain mod...
