In my case, I think the rattles come from the plastic between the dash and steering column. When I have some free time, I'll crawl under the dash and see if I can see anything. I want to install the footwell lighting, anyway, so maybe while I'm already down there....

But no, both gloveboxes are completely empty as is the door pocket/cupholders.

The Fit is a nice car, it doesn't deserve these rattles.
I wonder if you SHOULD put stuff in it..I mean its not a good solution, but if you put heavier objects that aren't loos in any way it may help. I have my manual in there and try not to put loose pens and stuff that may vibrate. Also I try to keep the Ipod box relatively empty...I know its not a good way to handle it and Honda should have just made it better, but its what we have to work with I guess. I do turn my stereo up on the freeway as well...the little guy is what he is. still saves my pocket book a nice amount of cha ching.

Let's not start an argument here please. This thread should just be used to discuss solutions to the rattles!

Anyways, I've figured out a few of the rattles that my car had, and thankfully they were all easy fixes! I'll update my original post with solutions soon .

just finished a 900 mile trip from south in 2 days. the glove/front door/front windows area will rattle when I drive over rough roads. on smooth good roads nothing at all. but on bad roads it's loud. haven't figured out a solution yet, other than avoiding bad roads (if avoidable). this car probably need better cushion/suspension or something to prevent all the vibration from getting to the interior.

I would take it to the dealer and let them do there job. But it is a hassle to do that some of the times.

My Fit is at the dealer this moment with the dash rattling issue on the passenger side. I really doubt that they will be able to fix it. It only rattles when I am on freeway and it goes on and off. Since I am taking the car for free oil change anyway. Might as well give it a shot.
