if I painted with taffeta white paint, would the hood surfaces looks "wavy"?

I mean how good is the surface of the carbon hood from JDP?
the factory steel hood of course is very good because it was stamped at the factory...
I don't want my hood to look like it had been on an accident after I paint them due to wavy/uneven surfaces...

I really need this hood because it have ventilation...
so it will help cooling,
by the way,
do the ventilation hole really working or just fake ventilation?

EDIT: one more question,
how about the clearance between the area where the ventilation is to the top of the engine intake manifold,
is it the same as stock hood or less now? because the ventilation seemed to be lower then the rest of the hood.
I worry if I install Sprintex, the supercharger top housing or the Supercharger Intake Pipe that goes to the throttle body
might hit this JDP hood around the ventilation area...

Thanks Ryu
yeah the waviness. u my friend have a keen eye.. i had to re clear coat the whole hood after making the repair and i had to resand some imperfections on the hood. unfortunately it was too hot and i guess i didnt look at every angle and missed a few scratches. the finish on the original jdp hood was fine. ull be ok. then again if u are getting a carbon hood to get painted, its only as good as sanding.

ventilation. who knows. i dont have a temperature gun. all i know is when i first get out of the car after a long drive, the fenders and hood are cool. after leaning on the fender for a few minutes while smoking it gets hot. so i guess it keeps it cool.

clearance. i don't know.

Today:

- Adjusted valve
- Replaced both front brake disc as they were too thin.

- Replaced engine oil and filter
- i-VTEC 3d sticker from Amazon arrived, applied on the car and I think it looks great.

Mine is being painted at a body shop,
they need to separate the black piece from the rest of the side skirt to make sure they don't miss any spot (it is riveted together), plus they had to be careful with the black rubber stripping, and they used PPG paint
so the painting cost me $500 per pair.
Another shop quote me even higher, $550 per pair...

the shop asked me is my side skirt factory Honda,
I told them aftermarket but I don't tell them it is a Mugen...
I worry they will jack up the price even more

but the shop say, this is the best quality after market side skirt they ever seen, it look like OEM factory piece hahaha
If you don't mind me asking, what was the s&h for you? Usually for me, it's just a bit more than mainland, but so I can get a ball-park figure.

Not bad One last favor, do you by any chance have the box still? If so, could you measure the dimensions? Figure I can just have it shipped to my house in Japan and bring it back next time I head up.

today i replaced my odb2 splitter with an ultra low profile odb2 splitter. the previous was so big and fat it gets in the way of the gas pedal. while i was at it, tucked in all the loose wires falling under my dash.

laid down another epoxy layer on my project crz cover and will do another coat in an hour or so. damn hard as hell to get a bubble/dust free layer. sanding sucks so much.

Just when I thought I was done adding stuff to my Fit, today I installed a Progress rear sway bar and a set of Koni's in the rear.

Finally received my custom plates after waiting for 3 months.

At this point my build is done, just going to focus on a full detail later in the year when I have time

I have all the goals completed for the build, I will just need some tires later in the year but not going to buy anything else.

It's good to have a clear goal for your build otherwise you are chasing your tail buying stuff that you don't need. I learned this lesson with my 350z build so I can just enjoy my mods now and not think about buying anything else!

No hobby ever ends. I told myself I wouldn't buy any records last month. I told myself I'd only do a couple more mods to the Fit. I told myself I'd stop upgrading my computer. Last month I bought a John Cooper Clarke single, my blox antenna, and now I'm looking at video cards.

And when my wife complains, I just look at her and say "Hey! At least it's not crack." Then she sighs and I continue what I'm doing.

Sprayed clear coat this morning on my little project. Did a mockup with the engine.

Also received my Proclip today for the A Pillar. I had no good place to put my scangauge that is near my line of sight. Cut out a hole in the back for the wire and was able to tuck them into the rubber door seal. It also gave my mic a place to clip to.

Waiz u know u want carbon fiber crz engine cover =p
